What happened with FLStudio 6?
I've been using 5.0.2 for a long time, and everything was OK.But since I installed 6.0.3,some strange *BAD* things happened:
- Before I could get latencies of 3ms with 5.0.2c in 24/48 mode. Now with 6.0.3,it's so slow, anything under 10ms is impossible to get.
This means FL 6.0 is 3x slower than FL 5.0 :( ...and they claim they've made speed improvements...don't make me laugh...LOL
- When I tried Chrome and changed to the next preset, the video went fullscreen and my computer was reset.Bad,very bad.
- Why Fruity Scratcher has only 1 turntable? Where is FPC2? Why the multimedia keyboard transport keys (play, pause, stop, etc.) are not working?
- The menus are very very slow compared to the ones in 5.0.2c The useless new menu skin is slowing things down to snail speed. Also the draggable bars and everything else are so unresponsive now with the animation that is added.
I have some suggestions for FL6.Can you report this to gol or the others?
*** Important features missing in FLStudio that nobody thought of implementing, but are very easy to add:
1. Single key auto-chorder function:
You select a chord from a menu and by pressing just one key on the MIDI or Typing keyboard the whole selected chord is played.
This is not possible now.Only FL Slayer has something similar like this, but that's not it.
All the chords from the menu in the piano roll should be selectable for this feature (mode),PLUS the "auto chords" and "power chords"
2. Play (hear) the chord sound when drawing a chord in the piano roll.Currently it is not played, but if you paste a single note,it is always played.
If the chord is played,it'll be much easier (faster) to work in the piano roll for those who make music mostly "by ear".
Also, when you click with the mouse on the piano roll keyboard on the left of the piano roll window, the chord is not played, only the single base note.
It is better to hear the resulting chord, when input is in "chord mode".
3. When recording input from a MIDI keyboard or typing keyboard,if "Chord" is selected from the piano roll or the keyboard input is set to "Chord Mode",the input should be recorded as CHORDS,not single notes as it is now.
4. The "Strumming" feature like in FL Slayer should be available for MIDI/Typing keyboard input and the chords which you input with the keyboard should "strum" and record in the piano roll as strummed chords.
5. "Replicate Channel" - Copies the instrument channel to another new channel, with the knob settings AND the piano roll/step sequencer score (for that pattern only, not all patterns' scores). This is unlike "Clone Channel" which only copies the instrument channel and the knob settings and the score is not copied (a cloned channel is empty)..
6. Copy an insert/send effect from one mixer channel slot and paste into another mixer channel slot.
For example,I want to copy the Fruity Reverb used as an insert in mixer channel #2 to an empty insert slot in mixer channel #5.
Or cut the reverb from an insert slot in channel #3 and paste it to an empty insert slot in channel #12
Very, very handy feature I miss in FLStudio.
7. A button to reset the underruns indicator in the Audio Settings menu to zero.Handy for testing performance at various latencies - running a project and then checking back and adjusting the setting optimally.
8. An 8-point interpolation method that's better than 6-point hermite that will give best quality for realtime use and rendering. The Sinc Depth algorithms are unusable for real-time and too slow for rendering of songs which use the Soundfont Player or samples.A better 8-point algorithm will provide the best compromise between speed and high quality.
9. The Glue Tool should be selectable with an icon in the piano roll toolbar and work "realtime" like all other tools: draw,paint,select...
Sorry that I'm using English, but if I used another language you wouldn't even understand...
